What Are Ombré Brows?
Ombre brows are a form of semi-permanent make-up where pigment is implanted into the skin to create a new and improved eyebrow shape using a semi-permanent make-up machine.
The Ombre Brow technique creates a soft and pixilated colour at the bulb of the brow slowly increasing the gradient and intensity to create depth and definition for the body and tail of the brow.
The ombre brow trend has been around for a few years and is still going strong. In fact, it was recently popularised by celebrities such as Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid who have sported this style on their own eyebrows.
Why Choose Ombré Eyebrows?
Ombre brows are the perfect choice for those who have a daily struggle drawing on eyebrows every morning. That symmetry struggle is real, your brows are sisters, not twins but certainly not distant cousins either.
They are subtle, but they can make an impact on your appearance.
Ombre brows can be versatile, ranging from looking natural, like you’re wearing eyebrows for the first time, to more dramatic with a lot of contrast.
Ombre brows create a soft powder effect and would be suited to clients who are looking for that that get up and go look. It’s also a great choice for those who have sparse eyebrows and want to give an illusion of a fuller brow. Or indeed those whose skin type is not suitable for Microblading.
How Long Does The Ombré Procedure Take?
You will, first of all, need an initial consultation to make sure that Ombré Brows is suitable for your skin type and answer any queries you may have. This will take up to 30 mins.
Depending on what skin type you have, it’s possible to undergo the full tattooing process in about 2-3 hours.
Denise will carefully map out your new eyebrow shape and will only start the procedure once you are completely happy with the position and shape of your new eyebrows.
You’ll be well looked after in our salon and if you need a break or need to move position then we’ll work with you to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible.
Are Ombré Brows Painful?
Ombre brows are not painful, minimal discomfort may be felt during the procedure.
Ombre brows are created using a selection of sterile disposable semi-permanent make-up needles which are worked lightly over the skin to implant the pigment into the sweet spot which sits between the epidermis and the dermis to create that signature pixilated look.
Is There Aftercare Required From Ombre Brows??
Once your initial appointment is complete there’s not much else for you to do.
Refrain from getting them wet for 14 days, avoid direct sun exposure for 4 weeks post-treatment and avoid strenuous exercise while the brows heal.
You will leave with an aftercare pack with everything you need in it to look after your brows post-treatment.
What To Expect After Your Treatment
Immediately after the Ombré procedure, your skin may appear red with minor swelling. Your new brows may look a little bolder than you imagined as the pigment will be sitting on the skin’s surface.
As your skin heals the pigment will soften. Week 3-4 of healing your brows may appear very light due to the healing process and your immune system trying to clear away some of the pigment.
Around week 5 the pigment will resurface and will look darker again.
Around week 6 you will have your perfecting session done. This session is to perfect your brows to make sure they have healed well and that the colour is evenly implanted into the skin.
Ombre brows last longer in the skin than Microblading does. A colour boost is usually needed every 18-24months depending on skin type, client health and genetics.
What Type Of Skin Type Does Ombré Suit?
If you’re forever pencilling or filling your eyebrows with shadow then this procedure could be perfect for you.
Because it can mimic the look of filled-in brows without the effort every morning this could be an absolute time saver!
The procedure can involve a process that’s more like actual tattooing (thousands of tiny pigment dots) and therefore is naturally suited to people with oily or combination skin.
What's The Difference Between Ombré Brows And Microblading?
The difference between Ombre brows and Microblading is in the application.
Microblading is created with a handheld manual tool. Ombre brows are created using a semi-permanent make-up machine.
