What Is Microblading?
Microblading is a cosmetic procedure, where small pigment granules are implanted into the basal layer of the epidermis. It’s often described as a semi-permanent form of brow tattooing. Just imagine being able to have realistic looking brows that you’ve always wanted and don’t wash off!
Why Choose Microblading?
Microblading is suitable for a number of clients regardless of age or gender. The reasons behind someone choosing to have a procedure done vary hugely.
Some examples could be a client with sparse or uneven brows or bald patches.
Perhaps you have a physical job and would benefit from having smudge-proof makeup!
If you’re looking to save an endless amount of time not having to draw in your eyebrows every day then Microblading is for you!
There are a number of reasons why Microblading could be the answer you’re looking for and Denise will explain all…
How Long Does Microblading Take?
You will, first of all, need an initial consultation to make sure that Microblading is suitable for your skin type and answer any queries you may have. This will take up to 30 mins.
Once we have a plan in place we can book you in for your first session which is the longest one and we allow up to 2 hours for this.
After this session, you will go home to allow your brows to heal and then return for a 6 week touch up, which will take 45 minutes.
This allows Denise to check the brow over and touch up any areas that may require a little more pigment.
After this, Denise will then recommend you have a 12-18 month colour boost to make sure your brows are looking their best.
Does Microblading Cause Any Pain?
Everyone has a slightly different tolerance to pain and most people describe Microblading as NOT being painful.
It has been more likened to threading your brows.
The professional tool we use creates tiny little superficial cuts to the surface of the skin which will replicate a natural brow hair pattern. Once healed, this creates a soft natural-looking brow.
Is There Aftercare Required From Microblading?
Once your initial appointment is complete there’s not much else for you to do.
Your eyebrows will go through their natural healing process and all that we ask is that you refrain from getting them wet for at least 7 days post-treatment.
You will leave with an aftercare pack with everything you need in it to look after your brows post-treatment.
Microblading Healing Process
Immediately after having Microblading done, your skin may appear red with minor swelling. Your new brows may look a little bolder than you imagined as the pigment will be sitting on the surface of the skin.
As your skin heals the pigment will soften. Week 3-4 of healing your brows may appear very light due to the healing process and your immune system trying to clear away some of the pigment.
Around week 5 the pigment will resurface and will look darker again.
Around week 6 post-treatment Denise will arrange a touch-up appointment. This appointment is about perfecting the brows and only takes around 30mins to 45mins.
